Disneyland.

Lets face it, no matter how old you are you still get excited for Disneyland. It’s been a good couple of days, and an awesome way to end the holiday. Coincidentally one of my friends from home happened to be on holiday with his family in Paris, and was visiting Disneyland today. We spent the day with him and his brother, which was cool.

Tomorrow we have to get up at 4.30am to start the journey home. An early night is definitely in store.

Paris, France.

I absolutely love Paris. One of my favourite cities :)

Today has been a very long and tiring day, but by far the best day of the trip.

We got the Metro into central Paris, and the first thing we noticed was the roads were closed, there were huge crowds of people, and a lot police and the army about. I knew it was a bank holiday today in France, but I didn’t know what for. Later on, I find out it’s French National Day. One of the most important days in France and we happen to be in the capital city.

We watched a helicopter display for a while then headed towards the Eiffel Tower. We decided we’d walk up to the 2nd floor and then get the lift to the top. The views were stunning, and the weather was beautiful. We spent a good 2 hours altogether up there.

Afterwards we walked to the Arc Du Triomphe and onto the Champs Elysees. Not surprisingly it was very busy.

We then walked through Les Jardins des Tuileries to get to the Louvre, and then onto Notre Dame. Which are all quite a way from each other. By this time it was getting on for 9pm, so we decided we should probably have some food.

Cafes in central Paris are not cheap, and Steve is still moaning about the fact his half a Guinness cost him €5.

Because of the holiday, there was a fire work display held just over the river from the Eiffel Tower. There were thousands of people gathered round watching it. It was pretty spectacular.

Getting back to the hotel was a pain, as they shut the metro stops in the centre of Paris due to the amount of people there was. To begin with I thought we were going to have to walk an hour and a half back to the hotel but luckily we found a metro stop just out of the city, and got back okay.

I am absolutely shattered. Today we must have walked like 20 miles altogether. I have never been this knackered in my life. Must of walked more on this holiday than I have done in my whole life.

Anyway, onto Disneyland tomorrow!
